Description

The Build Your Future Career Event connects Jackson-area students with local builders, contractors, and industry professionals for a focused, in-person opportunity to explore careers in the residential building industry. Held at the Jackson Area Career Center, this event is structured to allow meaningful conversations between students and businesses. Students will attend in two sessions, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM, creating a steady flow of engagement throughout the day. Participating companies will have the opportunity to meet directly with students, discuss career paths, highlight summer and entry-level opportunities, and share what it takes to succeed in the trades and related industries. While the skilled trades are a primary focus, participation is encouraged from all businesses connected to the residential building industry, including suppliers, financial institutions, and service providers. Lunch will be provided for participating members by the Career Center’s culinary students. This event is designed to create direct connections between students and local employers while strengthening the future workforce in Jackson and the surrounding communities.
